This is a very old Irish classic salmon fly. (1895)

Head:    Black

Tag:     Fine oval gold tinsel

Tip:     Claret floss

Tail:    A Golden Pheasant crest feather

Body:    Fiery-brown mohair, moderatly slim

Ribbing: Fine oval gold tinsel

Hackle:  A light fiery brown hackle is palmered forward from the second
         turn of the tinsel to the throat and one or two extra turns
         are made at the throat. The longest fibers of the throat extend
         to the tip of the throat.

Wing:    An underwing of sections of Golden Pheasant tippet, veiled by
         bronze mallard sections, slightly longer than the tippet
         sections

Horns:   Blue Maccaw (optional)
